Oral Health Assessments & Periodontal Diagnosis

Our oral health assessments are designed to deliver a thorough, evidence-based evaluation of the mouth and surrounding structures, supporting early detection, accurate diagnosis, and personalized care planning.

Each visit includes a detailed head and neck examination, assessing lymph nodes, salivary glands, musculature, and temporomandibular joint function to identify abnormalities that may affect oral or systemic health. A structured oral cancer screening is performed at every assessment, with careful inspection and palpation of all oral and oropharyngeal tissues to detect suspicious lesions at the earliest, most treatable stages.

We conduct a comprehensive periodontal assessment, including periodontal probing depths, clinical attachment levels, bleeding on probing, plaque and calculus evaluation, gingival phenotype, recession, furcation involvement, tooth mobility, and radiographic bone levels where indicated. These findings are synthesized to establish an accurate periodontal diagnosis.

Periodontal disease is classified and graded in accordance with current American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) standards, ensuring alignment with internationally recognized clinical guidelines. This approach considers disease severity, complexity, extent, and risk of progression, allowing us to tailor preventive, non-surgical, or maintenance strategies to your specific needs.

Our goal is to provide clear diagnoses, patient-centred education, and a proactive pathway to long-term periodontal and overall oral health. To get the full picture we also need to see what lies beneath.

Digital Dental X-rays

Why Digital ?

Digital X-rays require up to 90% less radiation than traditional film, making them safer for you and your family. The higher quality digital images can be enhanced, zoomed, and adjusted to detect even the smallest issues. Spotting cavities early and tracking periodontal health is essential and digital dental X-rays offer a clearer, quicker, and safer way to understand what's happening beneath the surface of your smile. They are environmentally friendly eliminating the use of film, chemicals and waste associated with traditional processing.  Digital images can be stored, retrieved, and shared effortlessly between dental professionals.
